About Human Angle Initiative
Seeing People Through a Human Lens
Who we are
Human Angle Initiative was founded on the belief that every refugee deserves to be seen, supported, and empowered as a human being first. Behind every refugee story is a person who has experienced disruption, loss, uncertainty, and resilience.
Human Angle Initiative exists to ensure that refugees arriving in Canada are supported during the most critical period of transition — the early resettlement stage — when access to safe housing, settlement guidance, and community connection can shape long-term outcomes.
OUR STORY
Why We Were Created
Human Angle Initiative was established in response to growing settlement challenges faced by African refugees and asylum seekers arriving in Canada. Many newcomers arrive with limited local support networks and face immediate housing and system navigation barriers.
While Canada offers strong protection and opportunity, early settlement remains one of the most vulnerable periods for refugees. Without timely support, refugees can face housing instability, social isolation, and delayed access to essential services.
Human Angle Initiative was created to help bridge this gap by providing early, culturally informed, and community-driven support.
OUR MISSION
To provide safe temporary housing support and settlement navigation services that help African refugees and asylum seekers transition into stable, independent living.

FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
“Human Angle Initiative was founded on the belief that safe housing and early support can transform the future of refugee families. Too often, refugees face overwhelming systems alone during their first weeks in a new country.”
“We are committed to building a system where refugees are welcomed, supported, and empowered to succeed.”
“Together, with community partners and supporters, we are building pathways to safety, dignity, and opportunity.”
